University officials inaugurated the College of Engineering (COE) Academic Building (Phase 1) last October 27, 2021.

The dedication of the new building was led by Pastor Marcial D. Gabriel, former faculty regent and minister of the Christ the Chief Cornerstone Christian Church.

MMSU President Shirley C. Agrupis said the new building will surely upgrade the delivery of engineering degree programs and will facilitate the college in preparing for the limited face-to-face classes.

COE Dean Nathaniel R. Alibuyog said the Php 23.8 million-worth building will also serve as a hub of transformative engineering research and impactful extension programs that will house the civil engineering department.

Dr. Agrupis also urged the college’s faculty to “let this building become a model of automated, energy-sufficient, and resilient infrastructure.”

The Academic Building is one of the new buildings in the college. The Soil and Water Laboratory has also been built, while others are undergoing construction: Academic Building (Phase 2), the Agricultural Machineries and Equipment Center (AMEC) building, the Integrated Engineering E-Learning and Multi-Technology Laboratory, and the Coastal Engineering and Management Research and Development Center (COASTER).
